6th International Congress of Medical Assessors in the Republic of Slovenia

Dear participants,

In the name of the Organising Committee of the 6th International Congress of Medical Assessors of Slovenia (6MKMIS) I would like to invite you to the central event in the field of medical assessment in social security in our country, which is going to take place from 11 to 12 March 2021 in a virtual environment.

We can safely say that this sixth expert meeting in the field of the assessment of temporary and permanent incapability for work, as well as occupational and employment rehabilitation, has become a tradition. As always, our wish is to link all those who are taking part in these procedures: doctors, who in most cases start procedures on behalf of insured persons, as well as judges, who conclude the procedures in terms of the legal protection of the insured.

The conference is going to focus on topics relating to the field of orthopedics and chronic pain (fibromyalgia) as to

• Sick leave
• Disability
• Disability assessment
• Return to work
• Occupational and employment rehabilitation

We are convinced that these issues will remain as current in the future as they are today, perhaps even more.

Renowned Slovenian and foreign experts are going to speak on the subject from scientific as well as practical points of view. We are quite convinced that the examples of good practice, which are also going to be an integral part of the schedule, will be extremely useful.

Dear participants,

The Scientific Committee of the 6th International Congress of Medical Assessors of Slovenia (6MKMIS) strives to organise an event that will be interesting from the scientific aspect by including topics which will maintain the continuity of the previous congresses.

The 6MKMIS will present the novelties in diagnostics, treatment and rehabilitation of orthopaedic diseases and fibromyalgia in light of assessments regarding temporary and permanent incapability for work, return to work and occupational rehabilitation possibilities.

The main themes of the congress will be orthopaedics and fibromyalgia, as well as other areas of medical assessment. We will strive to link theory to practice and the various areas of medical assessors.

It has been over 10 years from the presentation of the above themes at the International Congress of Medical Assessors. New diagnostic methods are now available to us, as well as the means of treatment and rehabilitation and the possibility to undergo vocational and occupational rehabilitation. Our aim is to bring closer the aforementioned content to as many medical assessors and doctors working in related fields as possible, as well as other professionals who are interested in the topic.

We look forward to meeting you and are looking forward to the expert presentations and discussions!
